Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
If you would like to work in Health & Social Care whether it be in a care home, hospital or any other place looking after the elderly or people with disabilities or special education needs, then completing the Level 2 course in Health & Social care will give you the skills and knowledge to work in the care industry. In order to complete the course, you will need to find a placement in order to gain more experience as a Health & Social care worker. The qualification covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures. You will be required to complete 9 mandatory units and 5 optional units from the new QCF framework. The mandatory units are: *Communication in health, social care or childrens and young peoples settings *Personal development in health, social care or childrens and young peoples settings *Equality and inclusion in health, social care or childrens and young peoples settings *Duty of care in health, social care or childrens and young peoples settings *Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care *The role of the health and social care worker *Implement person-centred approaches in health and social care *Contribute to health and safety in health and social care *Handle information in health and social care settings There is an assessment whilst you are on the course. There is coursework to complete, written assignments, group discussions and reflection on own practice in real work situations.
