Trainee Fund Accountant
Position: Trainee Fund Accountant Salary: GBP24,000 - GBP30,000 Location: Near Witney, Oxfordshire We are currently recruiting for aTrainee Fund Accountant on behalf of a firm managinf funds who are based near to Witney Ideally you will be part-qualified ACCA and working towards completing this. Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Investment, Accounts & Dealing Manager with the fund accounts work To provide support and cover for all functions within the dealing/accounts department To assist the Accounts and Dealing Team with all day to day financial matters Assist the Investment, Accounts & Dealing Manager with Liaising with the Fund administrators, CASS and auditors for the completion of the Yearly Reports & Accounts for each of the funds (Cautious, Balanced and Growth) prior to being signed off by the auditors and directors of the company. To assist in the development and maintenance of effective dealing systems and processes within the organisation Ensuring FCA, CASS (Client Assets) rules are adhered to by all employees on the daily task perform and submitting the CMAR Client Money and Asset Return to the FCA via Gabriel on a monthly basis by the set deadline. Maintain the Investment and Borrowing Powers (IBP) procedures up to date to monitor the funds are priced correctly on a daily basis and any new positions are recorded accordingly to the instruction issued on the NAV. Completing and Monitoring the monthly Fund Accrual. Instigating payment of Fund Invoices. Check the distribution rates have been calculated correctly by the Fund Administration Team. Calculate the monthly Ongoing & Research Fees. Skills Willing to start or working towards ACCA Qualification. Willingness to undertake study. Experience within the Financial Services Industry (preferable but not compulsory) Ability to manage own workload and work within a small team. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent report writing skills. Knowledge of financial products. Knowledge of legal regulatory and industry requirements. Knowledge of business processes, standards, policies and procedures. Knowledge on Fund Accounting Ability to handle pressure and critical decision making. Exceptional communication skills at all levels. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ideally Adviser Office, Volume and Pulse dealing system.
