About the role

The role is a Risk Engineering development role supporting the Technical Account Manager and Risk Consultancy team who take responsibility for all Property Investors risk engineering services provided to the Insured, and is ultimately accountable for the quality and consistency of service.

The Associate Risk Consultant has the responsibility to answer underwriting concerns and provide information on risk engineering activity and other operational risk issues that could impact on the profitability of the Property Investors account.

You will support the management of account risk engineering programmes throughout the year, ensuring programme consistency. You will supports development and delivery of Property Investors Risk Management proposition across UK account.

As an Apprentice Risk Consultant you will work towards the Level four, an accredited apprenticeship scheme with an industry recognised qualification. Throughout the duration of your studies you will spend a large proportion of your time learning on the job, and working as part of a team.

You will have dedicated ‘off the job’ time to focus on your studies, working with a National Training Provider to support your accredited learning.

The successful candidates will need to be able to demonstrate confidence, flexibility, motivation and be committed to developing themselves to build a long-term career in the insurance industry. Above all you must want a career in the insurance industry and be both willing and committed to learn.

Essential Knowledge & skills

Minimum of 240 UCAS points (Equivalent to 3 “C”s at “A” level)

Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade A to C with three of those being in Maths, Science (s) and English In Scotland – A minimum of 3 Highers


  • Strong desire to learn risk management/engineering practices on Property Owners and other risks.
