About the role

This role gives you a fantastic opportunity to not only to develop your technical skills but gives you the chance to meet both brokers and customers face to face.

You will be sponsored to study for the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) exams and expected to achieve Diploma status within two years. As a successful candidate you will be trained to have a full working knowledge of Aviva’s General Insurance products, including:

•Market awareness and presence

•In-depth knowledge of trends / patterns within Finance and Insurance sectors

•In-depth technical and product knowledge and understanding of products underwriting strategy

•In-depth knowledge of risk management and risk management solutions

•Legislation / regulation

•Trading skills and behaviours

As an Apprentice Trading Underwriter you will work towards the Level four, an accredited apprenticeship scheme with an industry recognised qualification.

Throughout the duration of your studies you will spend a large proportion of your time learning on the job, and working as part of a team. You will have dedicated ‘off the job’ time to focus on your studies, working with a National Training Provider to support your accredited learning.

They will need to be able to demonstrate confidence, flexibility, motivation and be committed to developing themselves to build a long-term career in the insurance industry.

Essential Knowledge & skills

Minimum of 240 UCAS points (Equivalent to 3 “C”s at “A” level)

Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade A to C with three of those being in Maths, Science (s) and English In Scotland – A minimum of 3 Highers
