Apprentice Software Developer

Aviva are looking for a well qualified school or college leaver to join us as an Software Developer Apprentice in our General Insurance Underwriting Solutions Delivery team based in Norwich.

Salary - competitive + benefits (starting from £15,500)

About the Role

As a successful candidate, you will have a unique opportunity to develop a long-term career with the UK’s largest insurer. This role gives you a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills by working alongside a highly skilled and experienced team of IT professionals.

In Underwriting Solutions Delivery we create and maintain automated underwriting tools.  We work collaboratively in small teams to build high quality solutions that meet our customers’ needs, first time. We will give you a fantastic opportunity to learn about and put into practice the Agile software development approach used across the organisation.

We collaborate with teams across our business, from Digital to Brokers, Marketing to Fraud, Pricing, Underwriting and more. This means you’ll get a broad view of how Aviva works, and a chance to see exactly how we operate as company.

We want you to make a difference. New ideas and perspectives are invaluable, so we’re looking for people like you: with a curious mind and a customer focus to contribute to our success. In return we will help you grow, and support you to be at your best.

As an Apprentice Underwriting Solutions Technician you will work towards the software developer, an accredited apprenticeship scheme with an industry recognised qualification.  Throughout the duration of your studies you will spend a large proportion of your time learning on the job, and working as part of a team.  You will have dedicated ‘off the job’ time to focus on your studies, working with a National Training Provider to support your accredited learning.

About You

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate confidence, flexibility, motivation and be committed to developing themselves to build a long-term career in the insurance industry.
